Fall 2023 Schedule

Apprentice Is Required To Complete 72 Class Hours Per Semester & 144 Per Year

First Year (144 Hours)

Semester 1 and 2: Code/Shop/Safety/Business Ethics/Math

Cost: $750.00 (per semester)

Second Year (288 Hours)

Semester 1 and 2: Blue Print reading/Math Transit/Drain Cleaning/Shop

Cost: $845.00 (per semester)

Third Year (432 Hours)

Semester 1 and 2: Drainage/Drawing/Code

Cost: $845.00 (per semester)

Fourth Year (576 Hours)

Semester 1: Code/Drawing
Semester 2: Preparation for Journeyman’s License Exam

Cost: $845.00 (per semester)

*As per the PA State Board of Education, in accordance with Act 24 P.S. 6502 and regulation 22 Pa. Code 73.42, the Board of Education is requiring that all payments made to the accredited apprenticeship training center come directly from the Master Plumber/Sponsor from whom the apprentice is employed with. Payments will no longer be permitted and/or accepted by the attending apprentice.

Additional Programs:

Backflow: (elective)

40 Hour Backflow Certification (please note this is not part of the curriculum and is a separate certification offered by AMPAC in conjunction with ASSE)

Cost: $600.00 (14 Evenings)

21 Hour Refresher/Make Up Courses:

Twenty-one hour Master’s refresher and twenty-one hour make-up courses for apprentice and journeymen plumbers conducted on 7 evenings during the second semester. Possibly during 1st semester if it warrants.

Cost: $500.00 (per semester)

Registration

Attention:
*As per the PA State Board of Education, in accordance with Act 24 P.S. 6502 and regulation 22 Pa. Code 73.42, the Board of Education is requiring that all payments made to the accredited apprenticeship training center come directly from the Master Plumber/Sponsor from whom the apprentice is employed with. Payments will no longer be permitted and/or accepted by the attending apprentice.

Apprentices will have opportunities to earn additional hours which will be added to the apprentice’s total hours AT THE END OF THE SEMESTER DURING WHICH THEY ARE AWARDED. These include:

  • Early Registration – Apprentice’s will be awarded 3 additional hours for completing their registration by the early registration date each semester they attend. Registration is considered complete when full payment from the employer is received.  As per the Pa State Board of Education code, tuition payments are required to be received through the Master Plumber/Employer of the attending apprentice.
  • Additional hours (3) will be awarded for a blood donation to Vitalant (Central Blood Bank) by an apprentice or their representative – one time per year. Be sure to donate with code: TS010056
  • AMPAC Meetings – THIRD and FOURTH YEAR apprentices may have opportunities throughout the year to attend approved AMPAC meetings that are educational in nature. (Apprentices will be awarded 3 additional hours for each of these meetings that they attend.)
  • If you prefer not to register your apprentice online, you can complete a registration form and mail it to 3128 Allendale Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15204 with full payment enclosed.
