School is on Monday and Wednesday evenings (except for Backflow)

The spring semester began on Wednesday, January 3rd and will conclude on March 26th (weather permitting.)   There are NO days off or holidays during this semester.  IF school is cancelled it will be on KDKA or WPXI's website or posted on their TV station.  We will make every effort to post it on our website. DO NOT CALL THE OFFICE TO SEE IF SCHOOL IS CANCELLED!

We will be offering another initial certification BACKFLOW class for those that have not been certified before.  It is on Tues/Thurs evenings from March 13-April 26.  Call or email us for more details.

*The Allegheny County Health Department will administer the Journeyman and Masters exam on Wed., April 25th. Deadline to apply is Wed., March 21st. Go on their website: www.achd.net and click on "bureaus" then "environmental health" then "plumbing" for an application.

About Apprentice Program

The Plumbing Apprenticeship Training Program is a 4-year Program.  Each year consists of two separate semesters, totaling 72 class hours per semester.  The Allegheny County requirement is 576 school hours as stated in Article XV, Rules and Regulations of the Allegheny County Health Department (The Plumbing Code).

The apprentice must accumulate 576 school hours before an application can be made to take the Journeyman Plumber examination to gain licensure.  The apprentice must also work for a licensed Master Plumber at the time he/she is attending school.  Work time for a Master Plumber must total 8,ooo  hours over four years or more.  School and work hours must be submitted to Allegheny County.  Both the applications and affidavits from Master Plumber employers must be notarized.
